That's the responsibility of the Recipient Update Service, so you need to
check the settings on that and you can also force an update:

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your reply,

Ah, I was on the right track. I just figured that there was a way to
actually define a mailbox as a "Resource", so I was looking for the wrong
thing!

I do have another question related to this. When a new user/mailbox is
created, it takes a while for the server to generate its email address and
add it to the GAL. How long should this take? And is it possible to speed
the process up? i.e. force a rebuild. Now I do realise that doing this could
take a long time with a large organisation, but ours consists of only about
30 users.

Many Thanks

Jason Merrique

Yes, you need a mailbox and account for the resources, here is a link that
applies to Exchange 2000 and Exchange 2003

Hi Chaps,

My apologies if this has been asked before, but I don't seem to have access
to any archive search. (Where can I find this?).

We're running Windows 2003 Server Std, Exchange 2003 Std, and Office 2003.

I've been having problems finding any information at all on how to set up
Bookable Resources in Exchange 2003. Could someone point me in the right
direction? What I mean by Bookable resources is something like a Conference
Room, a Data Projector or some other equipment. So far I've only found info
about this in Exchange 5.5 articles, it appears that I will need to set up a
mailbox associated with each resource. Is there a way to set up a mailbox
*without* linking it to an Active Directory User object? Or have I got the
wrong end of the stick here?

Cheers in Advanced,

Jason Merrique
