Microsoft Information Rights Management.  Ain't cheap, but effective.
Need to upgrade to 2003...

The only way you can stop them 100% is to take away their computers,
their printers and their hands. 

If someone wants to get the data out, they can. And there is nothing
technically that you can do about it. 

If your database is in Access (for example), you could block Access
attachments at the Exchange server. 

I'll just rename the attachment to .txt and send that.
Then you block all attachments 
I'll just export everything to a csv file and then copy and paste in to
the body of the message. 
Or I will simply print what I need and take the pages home. Or scan them
in. 

Are you restricting access to web mail accounts?
USB keys?
Floppy disk drives?

All ways of getting the data out. 

I will use a motto of another Exchange MVP... "There are seldom
technical solutions to behaviour/management problems". 

The simple fix is that management makes it a termination offence to send
the database outside of the company, then fires someone for it. Nothing
like a good public sacking to get the others to conform.

My directors are concerned that users can email themselves the company
database of customers and clients.

How do i stop the database being emailed out....

Please HELP!!!!
