-------------------------------------------------------Thanks for the feedback.

The store size is easy to handle, we've created multiple stores and
started moving boxes. Whether we then defrag what's left or simply
delete the empty store is undecided for the moment. I was just curious
because it's much bigger than anything I've seen, especially post the
multi-priv environment of Exchange 200x. 5.5 would of course have
choked on something this big.

The mailbox is the more complex problem - for legal reasons they aren't
able to delete anything via any process, mailbox management or direct
data contact via a client.

-------------------------------------------------------Hi
What about first backing up the store and do an offline defrag? I have
seen a store go 50% less after defrag.
Also you can you mail box manager to do some clean up on that mail box
like deleting deleted and junk items over 30 days.

Subject: [ExchangeList] Biggest Mailbox?

http://www.msexchange.org
-------------------------------------------------------Hey folks,

Just a quick poll - what's the biggest overall store, and single mailbox
you've seen?

We've got a client looking for assistance, and as it turns out they have
a store of 180 GB and a single mailbox of just about 45 GIGS.

Both far surpass anything I've seen, and I've worked with some big
companies in the past, but no one else has come close.

Needless to say, they're having problems, especially opening that
mailbox. Anyone have any thoughts on a way to extract the data in
there? We've tried Outlook, OWA, MDBView, Exmerge, IMAPping and POPping
it off, but nothing seems able to get there. Mail does keep getting
delivered, however, as it continues to grow.

Ideas, no matter how screwy, are welcome.

Rick
