Even if you do use a tape drive, NTBACKUP.EXE will not do a full back up of
Exchange. We got caught out a couple of years ago and could not restore the
mailboxes or Information Store. You think it is being backed up, but the
MDB data folders, which are critical for any restore, are not being backed
up. We lost everything and had to rebuild the mailboxes and public folders.
We immediately purchased Veritas Back Up Exec with the Exchange Agent and
have had no problems since then.

Yes, it is possible. The simple thing is that you have to copy the
NTBACKUP.EXE file from the exchange machine to the machine, which has a tape
connected to it. This is to be done in order to make the backup program
awaire of Exchange.

Hello!
I have a simple question. It's possible to made a backup for exchange
without having a tape drive on server which is running Exchange?
The system has Windows NT 4.0 SP6 with Exchange 5.5 SP4
