do it...

But more specifically, a blb is any backup that is using MAPI to access the
mailbox content instead of using the Exchange backup API.

A blb should NEVER be used "instead of" an Exchange-aware backup, and
arguably (because of security and performance considerations) should never
be used at all.

individual mailboxes out to .pst's..?
