Monika:

Hopefully Greg answered your question - I was away from the peecee all
day, although he answered it better than I could have. :)

I know you probably hate (just like most of us in IT :)...) the word
budget by now, but you are obviously restricted by one and may have
had to cut some corners in the project (of setting up this server),
however my main concern would be having 15000 users on one server;
single point of failure comes to mind. The classic "What if...." 's
also come to mind:

...the hard drive controller fails on the server. How long will it
take to get the part if you don't have a spare one kicking around
(sadly we all can't afford this). :)

...a power supply fails. Although, I imagine that a server in the
environment you are describing, redundant power supplies are part of
the package.

...the motherboard/mainboard or daughter board dies. How long to
repair or get a new one in? How long can you go without email?

Maybe this is all "been there, done that" for this Exchange project,
but I just thought I would throw a few pointers out, especially when
you have 15000 users relying on one big server. I would hate to see
you in situations similar to what I noted above. Like I say, I
apologize in advance if you have covered all of this already. If not,
I would be glad to continue the discussion on or off list.

Cheers,

...D
