before you run eseutil /d, make sure that offline maintainance is run on this database. Also check the deleted item retention period or the tomb stone value.

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Is there a better way besides eseutil /d to compact the exchange store?
I ran it last night after having some users archive a bunch of things
and it appears to have stayed right around the same size. And some users
deleted more than half their emails.

Let me know...
Thanks,
Dan
