Have you checked your SMTP logfile to see what clues it gives?

There are a few MS KB articles relating to 5.7.x errors, but it requires
that you check your logs to identify the correct resolution.

Find the logfile entry and post the information to the list for further
analysis.

All clients are Outlook - 2 clients are XP, the rest are 2000.
