Sorry, try again. As part of anti-spam filtering, incoming messages to many
servers have tests that are run against them. These tests including checking
how e-mail is sent to the sending domain, meaning that your incoming e-mail
settings are indeed checked.
If you do not know where your SMTP logs are.
By default they are in %systemroot%\system32\inetsrv\logs\ I think but you
should have moved them from there already.

The answers to questions 1-3 All have to do with incoming mail, and we use
postini for that. Our servers internally only accept mail from postini.
I fixed #4.
Where exactly are the smtp logs stored?
Frustrated here in KC.

What are the indications you are getting saying that e-mail to aol is not
making it?
Have you looked at the SMTP logs? AOL is usually very good about providing
the code and reason in the reject response and usually includes a link to
their postmaster site.
Here are problems with your DNS records and e-mail receiving servers:
1. You have 6 MX records but they all point to the same IP
2. PTR record does not match the associated A record for the host.
3. Improper unmatching HELO/EHLO
4. Not accepting e-mail to abuse address.
Those 4 areas can cause e-mail delivery problems for you.

1. I am still fighting to get mail destined for @aol.com to go out. Do you
all have your backend mail servers responding to pings for reverse lookup?
I thought that goes against having a secure backend server.
2. In System Managers under administrative groups/site/routing
groups/group/connectors/ I have 4 connectors
a. internet mail service
b. ms mail connector
c. Connector for cc:mail
d. dirSync Request OldMail
If all my reading and a so called upgrade class is correct, I shouldn't need
to recreate any of these connectors for mail to flow in and out of the
organization. Am I correct in this train of thought?
