[etni] vocabulary lists

Didn't I hear a lecture recently where it was shown empirically that learning 
new vocab in context didn't help the students remember items any better than 
learning them as vocab lists?

If I recall correctly, the important thing was consolidation and multiple 
revision of the new vocabulary rather than whether the items were learned as a 
list or in context.   Also at the same lecture it was noted that when 
vocabulary is related to context only then it is likely not to be revised as 
lessons move on to different topics and content.

The fact that this seemed to contradict everything I had learned previously 
about vocab acquisition made me make a mental note of it.
