The media and gov't are blaming striking teachers for the kids' wandering and
violence, as if our job is to be babysitters, simply because that's what they
think of teachers, babysitters. Actually some babysitters get paid better.
Histadrut members, you may not be the CPA's daughter which I am, but think
about this:
Your union signed a contract giving you less money per hour.
Your union signed a contract demanding more hours for a full time job and
demands that everyone work full time.
The government wants to reduce education expenses.
Neither has pledged to reduce class size.
That means that there will be more students per teacher, so...
Less teachers will be needed
Teachers will be fired.
Is that too difficult to understand?
I was at the Jerusalem demonstration and blogged a lot about it including
