Tuesdays at Talpiot in Tel Aviv
Below is the list of programs that we will be running next year. In
addition we offer programs for re-training, English proficiency, and a
program for a BA in education.
Remedial Teaching in English
The goal of this program is to provide English teachers with tools for the
special education needs of children integrated in the regular classroom, in
special educational needs classrooms and for individual needs.
Topics
* Remedial teaching in the classroom
* HELP (Hyperactivity, education, language and pedagogy)
* Teaching reading at the beginning and later stages
* Multisensory techniques in teaching
* Assistive technology
* Diagnosis and evaluation
English for the Young Learner
This program trains teachers who are certified as young learner and/or
special education teachers to teach English in early childhood education.
Topics
* Methodology for teaching the young learner
* Creating resources for the young learner
* Drama and children's theatre
* Computers and the English world
* Games in Language Development
* Proficiency in English
Diagnostic Evaluation
This program is recommended for certified English teachers with a minimum of
five years of experience in the field. Candidates must also be proficient in
Hebrew.
The goal of this program is to certify teachers as diagnostic evaluators in
English.
Topics
* Special education
* Remedial teaching
* Basics of diagnostic evaluations
* Diagnostic evaluations in English
Course for English Coordinators
Topics
* Planning for effective learning and teaching based on current educational
policy
* Understanding your own learning and that of others
* Understanding children's behavior and meeting special learning needs
* Assessment and evaluation at the school and national levels
* Learning, Information and Communications Technology
* Planning and designing educational resources
In addition, participants will learn the skills of team leadership and
interpersonal communications as well as strategies for decision making and
dealing with conflicts
(in Hebrew).
Upon completion of each of the above programs, graduates will receive a
diploma from Talpiot College.
