Subject: Teacher Drop Out Rates
For an article I'm writing. Does anyone have figures for how many teachers
finish teacher training but either don't teach or drop-out from the school
system within three years?
David Guy
Dear David,
Two relevant links re teachers of various disciplines are:
http://portal.macam.ac.il/ArticlePage.aspx?id=1092 [this one also includes a
link to an international database]
http://www.globes.co.il/news/home.aspx?fid=2&did=517098&nagish=1
My 2006 survey re new English teachers has indicated about 50% quit between one
and three years.
Good luck with your article,
Aki
