[etni] sending ETNI mail in plain text

Hi all,

As you may or may not know, mail to the ETNI list only goes through in plain text. If you send mail to the list using rich text (usually the default for "Outlook Express") - all special formatting (bold, colored font, indent, centered text, etc.) is automatically stripped away by the freelists approval process, before the message goes out to the list. The main reason for allowing only plain text messages to the list - is to prevent hidden, embedded virus code from being included in the message.

In the last day or so, some of the messages that have been sent to the list in rich text have required a lot of editing on our part, before forwarding them to the list, as a lot of html garbage characters were left in the text after the rich text was stripped away.

Therefore, we have a simple request.

For those of you who know how - please send your messages to the ETNI list address - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - in "plain text" and not in "rich text". This will lessen our workload quite a bit.

When using Outlook Express, you can change the format from "rich text" to "plain text" when composing a new message by choosing - "FORMAT" on the tool bar, and then choose - "Plain Text".
