Actually, I'm pretty certain that kids who are allowed to use an electronic
dictionary MAY use the quicktionary, but only the older model which
translates word by word; not the newer ones which scan a whole line.
(Actually, I thought that was a pretty weird distinction, because the newer
model only scans the whole line. it doesn't translate the line. the
translation is still for each individual word.)
As for which is better - it depends on the student. Obviously, the
electronic dictionaries give more, but a student has to be able to type in a
least the first few letter and then recognize the word, or type in all the
letters.
