If I may, I would like to voice my opinion about the recent Bagrut.

The tests were better than last year, also, it was good that the day started

            earlier. 

 

I think it should start earlier still and there should be more time between
the modules.

As others have pointed out, we were running around like chickens with our
heads cut off

and barely had time to glance at the modules.

 

As some may know, I teach mainly weak pupils. I think modules B and C were
ok,

however, module A was impossible. What I mean is that the English is
difficult for the

weak students but that isn't the biggest problem. There simply isn't enough
time for them

to complete all the exercises. By the time they understand the title for the
first unseen and

delve into it a little bit, they already have to get ready to hear the first
listening which is read

MUCH TOO QUICKLY for these weak students. After they hear it on the radio
they have FAR

Too little time to think about the questions before the next reading and
then it's on to the next reading.

In short, after all is said and done they hand in the tests at the end of
the allotted time barely having

scratched the surface. 

 

It should be known that their grades are considerably higher on modules B
and C because those

modules are designed properly.

 

I gave the A module to our 4 pointers with the same amount of time to see
how they would manage it.

It was difficult for them to complete the test in the time provided. Also,
they found some of the test

difficult and these are 4 POINTERS !!!!!!  (Their grades are pretty good in
modules C D and E).

 

Once again, we need to remember that these are WEAK WEAK WEAK students. If
they could

manage a test like module A, they wouldn't be doing 3 pts. They would start
with C and slowly

work their way up to D and E.

 

In this instance we are our own worst enemy. This test needs to be cut down
to one unseen 

and one listening comp. in the same amount of time. That's something that
these weak pupils

could deal with.

 

I call upon anyone with any influence in this matter to take it under
serious consideration.
