I, on the contrary, don't "want the Ministry to do something so that we don't have
to teach skills which they also need in their other subjects". I think it is natural
and desirable that the skills taught in different subjects would overlap, and
considerably so. That's the difference between education and training. The problem is
that those same skills are rarely taught in the other subjects at all...

I agree with what you are saying but I don't want a standing
ovation. I want the Ministry to do something so that we don't
have to teach skills which they also need in their other subjects.
Everyone knows the English teachers do much more work than the
others - how about double pay for starters?
