Subject: grades from moed aleph
a previous message stated ..."absolutely SHOCKED
by the inflated grades for module E."
In reply to complaints about the E module I fully
sympathise with what has been written. in my class
I had the same story - everyone got over 90 except for
one 89, (in the exam) while the class is composed of
pupils with a normal distribution curve in a 5 point
11th grade group, with some school grades of 75-80,
some 80-90 and a few 95 +.
We all remember how difficult the E was last summer,
and now we had a ridiculously easy test. Where is the
standardization and reliability of the Bagrut exam system?
How one earth can one compare the achievements of
students in this way? We have to give school grades based
on work they do which is NOT reflected in the exams
and at the same time we are expected to be "prophets"
and estimate how easy or difficult the exam will be !!
This is NOT not what I understand education to be all about.
