Hi Y'all
This months evening of glamour and excitement takes place on:
WEDNESDAY 29th June
in the Heder Yeshivot
at Kibbutz Tzora
Doors open at 9:00 pm
Entrance only 20 NIS including refreshments.
To reach the Heder Yeshivot (members meeting room) go
towards the Pundak but go up the steps or ramp on the left.
The single storey building just on the left is your destination.
This month we take pleasure in hosting a newcomer (at least to Tzora)
Leah Urso (her former stage name was Leslie Gould).
She has been a professional musician, singer, songwriter and
session player for many years in Chicago, Austin, Tucson, and
Nashville Her background includes classical, folk, blues, western
swing, Cajun, country and bluegrass. As of the last few years she
has also been involved in playing with Klezmer and Chassidic bands.
Besides fiddle she also plays mandolin, dulcimer, and guitar. She has a
Children's CD out now called Mitzvot, Mitzvot Everyday! which is
available in Judaica stores in America( www.morahleahmusic.com ).
She also has a Master's Degree in Special Education and teaches
English at the Tekoa elementary school where she quite often uses
music in teaching English. Leah will be accompanied by her husband
Yoseph on guitar and joined later by Bruce Brill for some twin
fiddle stuff. Later we'll hopefully be able to have a bluegrass jam.
Laurie Ornstein will also be in attendance as will Jacob Lipsky,
supported by his mother aka Sandy Cash along with other regular
performers (yet to be declared).
Talking of declarations, as 4th. of July (Lynn's birthday) is always
a busy time for many of you, especially those of the United States
persuasion, celebrations will take place this year on this same
evening at the Folk Club (the birthday that is). Next year the 4th. of
July will take place on 23rd. of April (St.George's Day UK) leaving
that other date free for Lynn's official birthday.
Looking forward to seeing y'all
Best wishes
Judi 'n' Lynn Lewis
