Subject: use of "the" and "a/an"

Does anybody have the address of a site which clearly and simply explains the use of the articles, "the" and "a /an" and omission of the article? (Not the basic uses pupils learn in primary school)

Too many of my 5 pointers are making frequent errors in the writing tasks and confusing the articles and I can't seem to find a simple explanation in any of the grammar books I have.
