Subject: reply to "How do you do?" question
Shalom
Dear Henry and everyone,
Here is a response from editing students, who shall remain nameless...
This is taken from a copy of Pygmalion. As one person wrote, we can

"MRS. EYNSFORD HILL [to Mrs. Higgins] How do you do? [They shake hands]."
"MISS EYNSFORD HILL [going to him with confident familiarity] How do you
do?"
"MISS EYNSFORD HILL [going to him with confident familiarity] How do you
do?"
"PICKERING. How do you do, Mrs. Higgins?"
"LIZA. How do you do?"
