In response to Sandy Regev’s message about “Music Evolution”,
I must say a few things:
I was also at that show, and you’re right about the fact that it’s not
really a play, I think they just called it by a wrong term, I was expecting
a play, too, but I certainly wasn’t disappointed. And the girls are lovely.

But what I don’t agree on was when you wrote “I really don’t see the benefits”??
Let me list them for you: The students get something different, I don’t
know of anything else out there like it. The students will be entertained.
It’s all IN ENGLISH! It’s what we’re supposed to be doing in class:
Preparing students for “the real world” of situations where they’ll need to
USE ENGLISH, right? The play, or whatever it should be called, sets
up the students for a discussion afterwards, and gives them a chance to
TALK in a much different situation than they’d get in my class or at home!
I actually liked the fact that it was only a glimpse into history and I think
the kids would love the topic of music. My classes always choose something
related to music when it comes down to free topics for writing assignments
or projects.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not big on the creative side. I try, but the
drama stuff doesn’t work for me! This can give my kids a whole different
way of learning, without even knowing they are!

And THOSE ARE THE BENEFITS!!!

About the price, with all the discounts given it came out to about 2,000 shekels,
which our school figured out would be only about 20 shekels for each student.
That’s not bad at all!

Our school will try to get the play, we see lots of benefits.
