After many kids in various schools, I have discovered that there is a big difference between em bayit and av bayit.

Em bayit takes care of the kids' maternal needs (health etc), and is close to 'school matron' in British English. The Av bayit sees to the technical maintenance of the school, as per Mr. Finch, and is therefore the 'caretaker'.

This forum is a mixture of av and em bayit, it nurtures our maternal needs, our mental health, our need for reassurance or support, while often answering technical and linguistic inquiries.
