Dear ETNIers and Books for Israel participants,

My hat's off to Barry for his successful northern cyclathon. Since this summer's "news" about Jade Bar Shalom's illness, I've been thinking how to help. I'm now planning to do a
series of benefit concerts around the country, the proceeds of which will all go to her and her family to cover expenses.

The first concert event will take place in my home community, in the library at Midreshet Ben Gurion. Our English corner has grown considerably since we joined books for Israel 2 years ago. Details on this concert will be posted.
This will be a very special event as Jade and Ilan's son, Aylam, who is a participant in a gap year program here, will be taking part as well.

I am presently looking for people to host concerts in other parts of Israel. I'm willing to travel to the north and center as well as to other parts of the south. It goes without saying that this includes
both Hebew and Arabic speaking communities.

Possible venues are "home" concerts or "library/school" concerts. I would love to share the stage with anyone who would like to sing a song, recite a poem or tell a story. If you can arrange a suitable venue and gather together an audience for such an afternoon/evening benefit concert, please contact me as soon as possible. Although I'd like to begin the series after the upcoming Jewish holidays, I would like to start organizing the schedule now.
