Subject: Re: the listening exam
When I started teaching in the fifties it did not exist. By
the time I retired at the end of the seventies it did, and
I had invigilated quite a few times. It was always done
via the radio. Sorry I don't remember when it began,
probably in the sixties.

Some of you more veteran teachers (I only started teaching
about 26 years ago) may be able to share with us the history
behind the "listening comprehension" on the English Bagrut exam.
When was it first included in the exam?
Was it always given through a direct radio broadcast, or was this
method preceded by some other?
What was the initial reason for giving it only through a direct radio
broadcast, and what is the reason now?
