I'm just a lonely, hardworking teacher:
   
Make the texts interesting.
Make the texts varied.
Don't let the texts have too many words they don't know.
   
First inculcate the new words they will need in as clear and 
interesting a manner as possible.
Then read the texts.
Then respond to them at the appropriate levels, scaling up from 
understanding the basics to deeper understanding to responses.
   
Let the learning tasks be clear, achievable, and obvious in purpose.
   
Be a friend and helpmeet to the kids as you explore English together.
   
All the rest is commentary.
