Fellow teachers.
My mother had had only two years of formal education. My Dad went to work when 
he was yet a teenager. My brother has a PhD and I a Master's Degree. We were 
first educated in Uruguay and then in the USA. 

She said to me many years ago, in her native Yiddish, something which rings so 
true today.

Every penny saved on education today will be spent on building prisons tomorrow.

Let us ALL think about that.
