I mentioned today in my 10th grade 5-point class that quite a few of
the compositions I got had very poor punctuation -- lots of commas and
no periods, or just one at the very end. The reply that I got from
one of the students was this:
"Teacher, you should have told us in advance that you pay attention to
periods and commas."
I hope we don't reach the point where I have to tell them in advance
that their composition has to be in English.
And as for Passover... Is the new vacation schedule a national thing
or is it just some schools deciding to have class on Friday the 15th
and then make the day after Yom Ha'atzmaut (a Friday) a day off? I
really love it when we're told about these kinds of changes just two
weeks in advance.
