[etni] "Yom Sea" ???

Our 7th graders had a "yom sea (or see)" today on violence . This is a day where they have different lectures, workshops and activities all on one subject. one of our native speakers called it a "peak day". does anyone know if that is what it is called in the states (or any other English speaking country)? 

and if not, what is a day like that called in English?
