I mentioned yesterday that I had received several of these and even when I scanned the files with my antivirus program (I'm using McAfee), it didn't pick up the virus. I updated my dat files yesterday, but when I scanned the files again, I had the same result. Even though I was absolutely sure that these were viruses, I decided to save the files (without opening them, of course) to see when and if my antivirus program would ever warn me. Today, I updated my dat files yet again (yes, there was an update since yesterday). I scanned the files again and this time it picked up the virus (in all of the files -- I had received MyDoom in a whole bunch of email messages and saved it six times). I think I received it about four more times today -- it appears to be rampant. Anyway, I just wanted to warn you all to update your dat files regularly -- even daily if you have to -- and not to trust your antivirus program.
