[etni] Translation Certificate Program - Beginning in the Fall!

Dear Colleagues,
 

In the beginning of the school year I was asked a few times and even
encouraged to make a short statement about the prospects of a translation
course at Achva, preparing teachers to instruct students for the State
Bagrut exam in translation. I'm happy to announce that, starting in November
2005, we will not only operate a year long course in translation for Bagrut
(2 Gmulim and certification by Achva and the Ministry of Education), but
that there will be a full fledged program of 224 hours in Practical
Translation, granting a Translation Certificate in six separate fields:
technical, legal, scientific, business, communication and literary
translation.

 

Registration is currently open through Achva, and the details about the
program appear in the Yedion (I currently beg/pray that the information will
also be posted online.). You can register either for the 2 hr. course, or
the full fledged program.

 

I am also happy to hear from teachers who would like to teach courses on
translation. and we have three administrative position (coordinators for: a
lecture series; practical training; teaching practicum) that we intend to
fill.
