[etni] The heading: CLOZE

Hi:

As a fairly recent visitor to Israel I was delighted yesterday to find a series 
of school textbooks that had been discarded by some schoolkid near my house in 
Kiryat Ono, outside Tel Aviv. They included a book that purported to teach the 
English language and I must say that I was quite impressed with it. Except for 
one thing! In the exercises that the reader had to complete, was the heading: 
CLOZE. 

I have no idea what this word means and I was wondering how come it found its 
way into such a good textbook...
