Years ago I unsubscribed to the ETNI list because my slow old computer and me
just couldn't keep up with the steady stream of emails and verbiage. Just this
week I re-subscribed out of the need to pick the brains of teachers and out of
curiosity to hear everybody's views on things, especially Bagrut - a very
interesting discussion there about the Module E flow chart.
I signed up to ask for feedback about The Miracle Worker and have received some
very interesting and positive responses, for which I am very grateful. Now I
thought you would all like to read a few curious coincidences, for those who
are familiar with All My Sons:
The family at the centre of the play: The Keller family
The wife's name: Kate Keller
The young girl who comes and changes everything: Annie
The time: The war is still a fresh memory (Civil War)
Scene: The backyard of the Keller home (in Alabama though, not Ohio)
Main focus in the yard: A water pump (as opposed to a tree stump)
As I read the play, I get such a weird feeling of deja vu because of all this.
However, the message is very different, and not tragic for those who prefer not
to go there, and I have a feeling that it will work.
Yours
Wendy
