Barry asked:OK folks, fess up.
What do you do if you're testing Oral Bagrot and the class doesn't have
projects because the teacher followed the Eargoon sanctions and didn't do
projects. With due respect to the Irgun of which I am a member, each teacher
also has responsibility to his class and his profession.
Barry, there are clear instructions from the inspectorate as to what to do: if
a pupil show up for the orals with no project in hand, the grade for the orals
starts at 40%, the 60% which is project based they can not get credit for if
there is no project.
These kids are most likely 12th graders. Why should all the other pupils sweat
blood ( and the teachers ____ bullets) working for months on a project and
these kids get a free ride?
The MOE and the NBA and inspectorate all require that 30% of the yearly grade
for one module be based on the project!! What did your Irgun-fellow-traveler
do? did she/he take off 30% of the grade of his own kids? , or did he/she NOT
FOLLOW THE RULES FOR GRADING?
I'll bet the same teacher could have not done extensive/intensive literature
(lit in class and book reports) either, which must be 30% of the grade of the
other two modules, because why follow the rules when I can skimp and make it
tremendously easier for both me and my students??
If the teacher did TWICE as much literature as required ( like 10 book reports
instead of 5 over these years, and 2 plays instead of 1 etc etc. ,) instead of
the project, I apologize for casting aspersions on the unknown teacher. If not
my criticism holds.
