So the Ministry actually had the audacity to send Aviva's school a letter
stating that they intend lowering her schools' English Magen grades. What an
absolute Chutzpah! Are they unaware of what a fashla the tests were? Did our
Chief Inspector not bother to explain what had happened?
What happened to Aviva is surely going to happen to additional schools - none
of us is immune. We all "sinned" by giving the magens according to the level
that we were misled into believing would be on the final exams. Of course, it
is redundant to state that there was no correlation between the exam and the
tests we all gave to our 12th graders.
All the work I put in during the summer seems to have been in vain, judging by
the responses I have received. The ministry is in total denial and exonerates
itself completely of any blame for the poor results.
Today Lauren and I contacted the Irgun and, once again, my overworked fax went
into business.
I implore as many teachers as possible to bombard Judy, Ronit Tirosh and Bracha
Maziel with their private grievances. Maybe they will finally get the message
when a great number of messages start flooding (I hope) their faxes and emails.
Apparently our letters, together with a page of 170 signatures isn't enough.
Now is the time to start writing individually.
Here are the fax numbers;
Ronit Tirosh 02 5602336
Judy Steiner 02 5603596
Bracha Maziel 03 5667695
In addition, send copies to
Sholomo Alon (the chief inspector) 02 5603596
Prof. Yaacov Katz (the pedagogical head of the Ministry) 025602085
