If you go to that salon to cut your hair ,dont blame me for the bad haircut.

You are talking about being blamed for "something".  "What happens " falls
under the category of something you can blame me for. any phrase or noun
that makes sense can follow  for in this type of sentence. (it has to be
able to follow for) dont blame me if it has no sense of direction.
If you don't listen to the weather report, don't blame me for the rain. if
you dont heed my advice, don't blame me for the outcome. "what happens" 
equals "the outcome". its not  acting as a verb here.
don't blame me if verbs and nouns become cross dressers and confuse you as
to their true role.. its not my fault, none of it.
