[etni] Re: Original Thumbs Up G Module

It would be even more interesting to compare the Module F text with the
original. An excellent exercise for teachers and students would be: What can
you infer about the author's purpose from the changes made in the Module F
text?
For people who do not wish to read the entire article, here is the relevant
paragraph:-
"Early in the movie, when the vast majority of the university faculty members
are ready to strike to protest the cutbacks, Ms. Boyd is a holdout who insists
that closing the university for even a day would be a tragedy. Eventually she
changes her mind and once enlisted in the cause becomes an enthusiastic striker
eager to persuade university suppliers not to cross picket lines. "
But for the more serious-minded academics, the entire article can be found at:-

or by searching the New York Times..."FILM REVIEW; A Music Teacher Trims the
Curriculum but Not Her Enthusiasm By STEPHEN HOLDEN Published: April 24,
2002,
I have no doubt whatsoever that any teacher who gets the answer correct would
have his ire sufficiently aroused to organise a mass refusal of examiners to
grade that test!
Keep smiling, colleagues, the end is nigh!
