[etni] My two cents

I don't know yet what to protest in regard to Dovrat's plan, but have some 
hopes as a result of the commision's recommendations.

   For example, I am hoping that the recommendations will finally free up 
the invaluable time I absolutely need to talk with individual pupils.  
Today, I have to look for loopholes in the teaching day when the kids and I 
aren't in other classes, and occasionally give up out of frustration.  From 
experience, those short get-togethers with both problem and good students 
produce more positive results than anything I can do in class or even on the 
phone with their parents.  In my opinion, many teachers never get around to 
personal contact with pupils because school is a factory for grades and 
Bagrut and "there's just no time" for interaction.

    Secondly, if I'm not mistaken, most teachers in the world work from 8-4 
(or three).  I hope the commission will allot rooms and working conditions 
so that the hours we don't teach can be used profitably and with pay.
