Making Waves English learning environment for Israeli foundation and
intermediate learners has several new features:
Communication Tools
Firstly the site offers new secure communication tools ? e-mail, class
forums and community forums. These allow communication in English only
between registered members of Making Waves.
New Learning Units
In addition to the Fairy Tale adventures units he site now offers Hi Tech
Adventures units that deal with various aspects of modern information and
communication technology. There are six levels to the Hi Tech Adventures
module that correspond to grades 4-9. The first units in the High Tech
Adventures module deal with communication. The topics covered in
communication are ? codes, telephones, cell phones, e-mail, chat and online
support. By September 2004 the next 6 units on information will be ready
for use. These will cover the topics of online dictionaries, online maps,
digital photographs, online advertising, searching for information and
evaluating information.

In this school year 90 registered schools participated in the Making Waves
program. We are now registering schools for the upcoming school year.
