Hi Michele,

I totally agree! I'm teaching one class less than you this year - 5 high school
classes, ranging from 9 to 37 students per class, a different book for each
class, for a total of 21 frontal hours. I don't think my classes are quite as
hard as yours, thank G-d (I think I'd be dead by now), but I am preparing two
classes for Bagrut, including one for the New Bagrut which means a lot of extra
preparation, a project etc.
And I don't even have any kids... As it is, I feel like I'm constantly behind,
thinking of nothing but work. I love it when people say that teachers have it
so easy with all their vacations. What do you think I did all Chanuka? 85% of
the time was dedicated to schoolwork, schoolwork, and more schoolwork.
I won't even mention the hishtalmut beit sifrit our school has decided we all
have to take this year, and what about the extra hours one school asked that
all the teachers volunteer to help weaker students?
I love teaching, but as Michele pointed out, if Livnat actually implements
everything she's suggesting, I don't think that I will last too much longer in
the system. Perhaps ETNI should start a poll on this subject?
All the best,
Rivka
