[etni] Re: LOTS and HOTS in Beer Sheva

I also did not find the conference enlightening. It is insulting to have someone read you their power presentation. When my pupils do this, they are stopped after a few minutes and told to go home and prepare themselves better.

I am currently taking a CAT course, and have been studying HOTs and LOTs since January. As my CAT course is online, I have been applying the strategies in various tasks that I have been submitting to my teacher. We have also read some excellent tutorials which I have shared with my colleagues, such as the following: http://academic.cuesta.edu/acasupp/AS/301.HTM

I think that a conference is an excellent idea, and wish that the format had been different. The format of the ETAI conference in Beer Sheva is a good example. There is time to network with our colleagues from other schools, who we don't often get a chance to see. I met many English teachers, and listened to what they had to say. The workshops were small and intimate with a lot of participation. For me, this is the best way to learn. Activate us, put us in small groups with a moderator, and give us a chance to meet the English teachers from different schools, compare our teaching techniques, and get new ideas.
