The Zionist Organization of America Presents:
Israel Advocacy Program for Israeli High School Students
Goals of Program:
- Explanation of Israeli-Arab public opinion battle outside of Israel.
- Explanation of “hasbara”/advocacy and its importance.
- Cultivate concern in students for proactively influencing public opinion
of Israel.
- Raise awareness amongst Israeli students to the issue of Jews in the
Diaspora and their connection to Israel.
- Expose Israeli high school students to the main accusations made against
Israel in the court of world public opinion.
- Educate Israeli high school students on the various responses to those
accusations.
- Introduce Israeli high school students to some of the main events and
developments in the "hasbara" battle in recent years, mainly on American
university campuses.
- Improve Israeli high school students' English skills in the context of
"hasbara".
- Engage Israeli high school students in English speaking activities which
focus on current affairs.
- Create a challenging, innovative learning environment, using movies, arts,
group work and discussions.
- Encourage love for Zionism and for Israel.
Structure of Program:
- The entire program is made of six units (each unit app.50 minutes).
- It will be possible to implement a shorter program in different formats
based on specific requests.
- The program is run by the ZOA campus department staff and students.
