Our in-service courses for next year are written up at

However, we'd like to tell you about the courses a bit thru email and

We have a number of interesting offerings for next year - some known and
some new :-) We hope you will find them stimulating and will join us!
Reading Acquisition and Remedial Reading Instruction in the English
Classroom: a full day year course (6 hours) There is supervised practice
teaching in the second semester. The course instructors include Dr.
Peggy Barzilai, Dr. Elana Cheshin, Dr. Susan Holzman and Susie Russak.
Program for Reading Specialists: Also a full day's course (6 hours)
leading to a certificate program - builds upon and expands the
foundation provided by the basic reading course (above). Same course
instructors as above.
Specialization in Teaching English to Pupils with Special Needs: A 4
hour weekly course for a year. The course instructors are Dr. Elana
Cheshin and Dr. Peggy Barzilay.
Teaching English to Young Learners: 4 weekly hours - and includes 3
courses: 1. Introduction to Teaching Young Learners (1 semester); 2.
Teaching English to Young Learners (yearly course; 3. Developmental
aspects of spoken and written language (1 semester). The program is run
by Rivi Carmel.

Linking Assessment, Teaching and Learning: Alternative and Traditional
Procedures : This online course will be held during the second semester
(end of Feb. - middle of June).. In addition to providing teachers with
hands-on experience and knowledge in linking assessment to teaching and
to standards, the notion of formative Dynamic Assessment, which
intervenes in learning and documents learners' on-going growth, will be
introduced and demonstrated. The course instructors are Dr. Ofra Inbar
and Dr. Jean Vermel.
