[etni] Hishtalmut

Dear REEDers Shalom

Last year I was approached and asked to give a Hishtalmut on Korczak, 
similar to the one that i gave at Dror Highschool for teachers in the 
centre. I set up two such courses, applied for gmul recognition and this 
week we started out. The course itself is based on the ideas, educational 
philosophy and legacy of the great Polish Jewish educator Janusz Korczak. 
The sessions are directly connected to modern pedagogy and methodology in 
the classroom.

Last years program (28 hours) at Dror is continuing and I was very pleased 
to see that the group has been joined by new teachers and any and all 
teachers are welcome to join this group as each session is an independant 
unit.

The sessions at Eshel Hanassi (in the South) on Tuesday, and at Manof (in 
the North) on Thursday did not get off the ground. At both of these sessions 
I was joined by a single participant and this does not justify having the 
Hishtalmut which is cost free (but I must travel long distances and apart 
from my car expenses, time is also money). I am prepared to volunteer my 
time and share my knowledge on Korczak but for this there is a need for 
teacher participation.

If you are willing to participate, please register so that I know that you 
are serious and I can depend on you. All you need do is send me a message 
with your name and name of school. The next session at Eshel Hanassi is on 
Tuesday the 30th of November and at Manof on Thursday, December 2. Both 
sessions are from 15:00 - 18:00. If interest is low in these two areas, I 
will give the sessions in other areas since I already have approval for the 
"gmul".
