[etni] Re: Hakra'at She'elon

Hi everyone,

I believe that a distinction should be made here. Unless the rules have
been changed in the last few weeks, a student's assessment which includes
the words 'hakra'at she'elon' , means that in English the student should
receive a TAPED version of the test (including the questions). It never
means that a teacher may read the text to the student, unless the student
has a special dispensation for 'mechanical difficulties', which means he
can't handle a tape or walkman. The only way a teacher may read the text
to a student in English is if the student's assessment states that the
student should be tested orally. In this case the assessment has ro be
signed by a psychologist, as with a 'mutam' test.

Hope this helps,
Enjoy life,
Patricia

Not in our school. A kid who has hakra'at she'elon gets the whole test read
to him/her, including the questions. It's a huge pain in the neck, as we
have to schedule a separate test for each of these kids. However, if I have
more than one in a single class, I do sometimes read to them all at the same
time.
