[etni] HOTS .. clarification about my class in the pilot

Dear Etniers,
I would like to clarify one point .  I have gotten many responses to my post
on ETNI  and I must make it clear that my class (which took part in the
pilot) was not a strong 5 point class !!! NOT at all !! AND there were ups
and downs etc.. BUT .. I could see the beginning of something.. of thought..
of interest.. .. and I felt I was giving my pupils something for life.
(tools). And I believe that our jobs as educators is to give them the tools
to continue learning English . . I can't teach them everything , nor should
I attempt to do so.  AND last but not least, if you ask a kid who graduated
10 years ago to tell you about a good unseen he read (learned) , I promise
you he won't remember even one but .. if you ask him about a story or a
poem, there will be something he does remember !!
Thanks for listening and yes I am an idealist who believes we can and should
change the world for better.
