Quite the reverse. It is the Histadrut which has been sold down the river. The details of the "Reform" were posted here recently by Motti Mendelkern I believe.I am sure he can put them up again for you. The Reform asks you to work more hours for less, cancels many benefits which you have right now and many teachers have already refused to sign it. The kids are wandering the streets at 2 am because their parents don't care where they are , not because their teachers are striking for better teaching conditions both for themselves and and for the benefit of the country's youth. Most teachers I have spoken to at the demonstrations are less concerned about their wages (although nobody is disputing that teachers deserve better) but more about classroom conditions, social norms, standing and lack of respect for teachers in the community , and a host of other things that have already been discussed on the List over the past 2 weeks. I would use the adjective "reckless" to describe whatYossi Wasserman has done, not what the teachers are doing now. There comes a time when one must shout "NO More" and stand up for what one believes in.
