This is an outrage. You're supposed to get the information at least a month
before you start teaching and you should have gotten the books you need free
of charge from Eric Cohen Books or UPP, with a Teacher's Guide to help you
prepare. Hasn't the English coordinator of that school talked to you?
I can't think of any way you can prepare beforehand if you don't even know
who your pupils will be! The only reason I can think of for this situation
is that the principal is afraid to let you know your future classes in
advance, in case you can find a better school...

I'll be starting in a new Junior High School teaching 3 classes, 5 times a
week. I still don't know what classes, what books or my timetable. I've
contacted the principal who informs me I won't know until the first day of
term.
Apart from planning an ice-breaker and assessment lessons (3-4 lessons),
how
can I prepare for the new term?
Any ideas?
