Regarding Simon's comment on Mods.A and E, if you have ever marked either of these tests, you will know that they require more care and concentration than brainpower (unlike D,F,G). MOreover, each contains a greater number of multiple choice questions (listening comprehension in A and E) and the answers in A at least are pretty straightforward. Therefore, initially no request was made to reduce these high quotas but the Ministry neverthelss kindly agreed to reduce 18 to 16 (A) and 14 to 12 (E) which creates a closer correlation with other subjects, like Maths, where the highest quota is 12 an hour for the 01 Module, and Arabic (4 an hour across the board!). That having been said, 30-40 % applies to modules B,D,F and G which are marked twice (B and D as of this moed) because they have compositions which require time and contemplation to receive a fair grade.
