The Israel Broadcasting Authority is phasing out the AM or medium wave
broadcasts for budgetary reasons which is why you cannot hear the newscasts.
The IBA spokesperson told the Jerusalem Post that the transmitter is being
shut down because the authority can no longer afford to maintain it.
However, the English language news continues to be aired on FM at 6:30,
12:30 and 20:30 on the Reka network: 94.4 in the north, 101.3 in Jerusalem,
88.2 in Tel Aviv, Gush Dan and the south of the country.
The spokesperson said that the FM transmitters are being reinforced and
increased since AM is becoming obsolete. As well, the radio broadcasts can
be heard on the Internet at www.iba.org.il or www.intkolisrael.com
We appreciate your support and interest in our ongoing efforts to provide
you with the latest English language news and analysis.

listened to them at 6:30am and 8:30pm on the AM dial.
